IWC Unveils Limited-Edition Big Pilot’s Watch to Celebrate Mercedes-Benz’s 140th Anniversary

## A commemorative piece for a historic milestone IWC has introduced a special edition of its Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar ProSet to mark the 140th anniversary of Mercedes-Benz. The collaboration builds on a partnership that began with Mercedes-AMG in 2004 and later extended to the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One team in 2013. Production is limited to exactly 140 units, a number chosen to mirror the anniversary year. ## Design details that blend heritage and luxury The watch is housed in a 42 mm stainless-steel case that combines brushed and polished finishes, measuring 14 mm in thickness. A matte black dial is adorned with solid-gold appliqués and gold-plated hands. Four sub-dials display the date, day, month and a four-digit year, while the Double Moon® phase indicator sits at 12 o’clock and requires a one-day correction only once every 1,040 years. The reverse side of the sapphire-glass case back showcases the 1926 logo that commemorated the original merger of Daimler Motoren-Gesellschaft and Benz & Cie., merging the three-pointed star with Benz’s laurel wreath. A black rubber strap equipped with IWC’s tool-free EasX-CHANGE® system completes the look. ## Technical innovation: the ProSet perpetual calendar At the core of the watch lies IWC’s in-house calibre 82665, which incorporates the brand’s Perpetual Calendar ProSet module. Protected by four patents, the gear-driven mechanism allows the calendar to be set forward or backward using a single crown position, eliminating the need for additional pushers or complex setting sequences.
