Seiko 5 Sports and Honda Celebrate 45 Years of the Motocompo With Limited-Edition Watch
Seiko and Honda launch the 45th-anniversary Motocompo Limited Edition watch, a 36mm field watch featuring a vibrant yellow dial inspired by the iconic folding scooter.
## Limited-Edition Watch Celebrates 45 Years of the Motocompo Seiko and Honda are collaborating to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Honda’s Motocompo, an ultra-compact folding scooter that became a symbol of Japanese urban mobility in the 1980s. The Seiko 5 Sports x Honda Motocompo Limited Edition watch is a distinctive timepiece that merges Seiko’s mechanical reliability with Honda’s design legacy. The watch is built around a 36mm Seiko 5 Sports Field series case and features a vibrant yellow dial with bold black lines mirroring the Motocompo’s original colorway. The classic Honda logo is displayed at 9 o'clock, and the word “AUTOMATIC” is rendered in Honda’s signature typeface. The crown is engraved with “TURN,” and the nylon strap pays homage to the scooter’s car-securing “carrying point” component with an “Insertion Point” engraving. ## Design Elements Inspired by the Motocompo The watch's design elements are inspired by the Motocompo's distinctive aesthetic. The case back displays a layer of red paint recalling the Motocompo’s accent trim, along with an individual limited-edition serial number. The watch is limited to 8,000 pieces worldwide, with an allocation of 455 pieces dedicated to the UK market. Pre-orders are open now, with official deliveries scheduled to begin in September. The Seiko 5 Sports x Honda Motocompo Limited Edition can be ordered via the Seiko Boutique website, retailing at £340 GBP (approx. $456 USD). This limited-edition watch is a unique tribute to the Motocompo's design legacy and a celebration of the collaboration between Seiko and Honda.
