Vacheron Constantin has launched a limited-edition Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin watch to celebrate the collection's 30th anniversary. The new model, limited to 200 pieces and priced at $132,000 USD, introduces a previously unseen azure dial paired with an 18K white gold case. Vacheron Constantin said: "That azure dial is paired with an 18K white gold case, a combination, the brand says, that hasn’t offered on this model before."

The watch features a 41.5mm white gold case that is just 8.1mm thick. The lacquered azure dial represents a lighter, less saturated interpretation of the collection's signature blue. It uses metallic shades and multiple layers of varnish for depth, and its appearance shifts according to light conditions. Applied hour markers and white gold hands provide contrast, while blue Super-LumiNova accents aid nighttime legibility.

Technical excellence of the Calibre 1120 QP/1

The watch is powered by the self-winding Calibre 1120 QP/1 movement. This ultra-thin, Geneva Seal-certified caliber measures just 4.05mm in thickness and comprises 276 components. It offers approximately 40 hours of power reserve.

Finishing is detailed, featuring Côtes de Genève, bevelling, perlage, and satin-finishing on its bridges and mainplate. A 22K gold oscillating weight is engraved with the Overseas collection's compass rose motif, a nod to its travel theme.

Perpetual calendar and moon-phase functionality

The movement drives a complete perpetual calendar that tracks the date, day, month, leap-year cycle, and moon phases. It automatically accounts for months with 28, 30, or 31 days and for leap years, requiring no correction until the year 2100. A matching blue moon-phase disc ensures visual harmony with the azure dial. The complex mechanics are visible through a sapphire crystal caseback.

Versatile strap system and anniversary significance

Consistent with the modern Overseas line, the watch includes a tool-free interchangeable strap system. Three straps are provided: an integrated 18-karat white-gold bracelet with a micro-adjustment clasp, a white rubber strap, and a denim-blue rubber strap. All feature interchangeable white gold pin buckles.

The release celebrates three decades of the Overseas line, which was first introduced in 1996 as a successor to the 222 model. It evolved through generations in 2004 and 2016. The current generation, launched in 2016, expanded the range to include time-only watches, complex complications, and skeletonized movements in materials like titanium, platinum, steel, and gold. The anniversary model's lighter azure dial is a new development for the collection. One observer noted, "I really like the change. This feels airy, light, and goes perfectly with the white gold case."

The watch is limited to 200 pieces, making it a highly collectible anniversary piece within the Overseas lineage.
