Louis Vuitton expands permanent Tambour Spin Time watch

Louis Vuitton has introduced five new Tambour Spin Time watches to its permanent collection. The luxury Maison unveiled iterations across 39.5mm and 42.5mm cases in white gold, rose gold, and platinum, ranging from deep green dials to a high-complication central flying tourbillon.

Building on limited-edition releases from 2025's LVMH Watch Week, the new references are conceived as the brand's mechanical expression of the "Art of Travel." The signature Spin Time complication, which creates a three-dimensional jumping-hour display, dates back to 2007. According to the source, La Fabrique du Temps founders Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini drew inspiration from airport and railway station departure boards for the original design. Every element of the new lineup is fully developed and produced in-house at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton in Geneva.

The 39.5mm models

The permanent collection opens with two distinct 39.5mm models, both offering 100 meters of water resistance. The Tambour Spin Time Green features a white gold case and a deep, earthy green sunray and sandblasted dial. It comes with a matching quilted green rubber strap that incorporates Louis Vuitton's signature V-motif.

Marking a first for the Tambour line, the Tambour Spin Time Australia's Opal arrives in an 18-carat rose gold case. The bezel and lugs are set with 68 baguette-cut blue sapphires. Its dial center is made of fiery blue Australian opal, framed by 12 baguette-cut diamond indexes. Opal inserts are set between each Spin Time cube. Both of these 39.5mm models are powered by the self-winding calibre LFT ST13.01, visible through a sapphire caseback - a first for this case size.

Larger 42.5mm travel watches

Expanding into 42.5mm white gold cases, two Spin Time Air references offer raise travel complications with suspended displays. The Tambour Spin Time Air Blue renders the brand's signature blue across a sandblasted dial. Its 12 floating cubes spell out "Louis Vuitton" and feature polished studs reminiscent of vintage trunk rivets.

For world travelers, the Tambour Spin Time Air Antipode Blue integrates a 24-time-zone worldtime complication into the in-house calibre LFT ST12.01. The watch places antipodal cities - locations exactly 12 hours apart, such as Los Angeles and Dubai - on opposite faces of the same cube. This design displays a.m./p.m. Day-night indications as the cubes rotate. Local time is indicated by a miniature-painted yellow pointer that references Louis Vuitton leather goods stitching.

The high-horology centerpiece

Topping the permanent range is the high-horology Tambour Spin Time Air Flying Tourbillon Salmon. It is housed in a 42.5mm case made of 950 platinum. Created in collaboration with La Fabrique des Cadrans, its soft salmon dial pairs with a taupe calfskin strap for a classical aesthetic.

At the center of this watch sits the in-house calibre LFT ST05.01. This is a complex 283-component movement that requires 50 hours of hand assembly. It combines the floating cube hour display with a central flying tourbillon styled in the shape of a Louis Vuitton Monogram flower. The collection is completed with openwork casebacks and fine-crafted details across all five references, anchoring the Spin Time as a lasting pillar of the brand's watchmaking.
