Panerai has unveiled the Luminor Tourbillon GMT Titanio PAM01784, a high-complication watch priced at EUR 160,000. The 47mm timepiece is crafted from lightweight Grade 5 titanium and features a skeletonised dial revealing a hand-wound tourbillon movement.

The new reference continues a technical path the brand began over two decades ago. It builds upon the P.2005/T calibre, first launched in 2016, which features titanium skeletonised bridges and plates.

Case and Construction

The watch retains the Luminor's signature 47mm case diameter and crown-protecting bridge. The entire case is constructed from brushed and polished Grade 5 titanium, contributing to a total weight of approximately 105 grams. A domed sapphire crystal protects the dial, while a display caseback, also made from titanium, offers a view of the movement. The watch is water-resistant to 100 metres.

Dial and Indications

The blue-treated skeletonised movement serves as the dial's foundation. Numerals and indices are mounted directly onto the movement plate, revealing the gear train, barrels, and rotating tourbillon underneath. Central hands indicate hours, minutes, and a second time zone. A small seconds sub-dial sits at 9 o'clock, with an AM/PM indicator at 3 o'clock. The power reserve indicator is located to the left of the 6 o'clock position.

Luminescent material provides night-time visibility in three colors. White Super-LumiNova coats the numbers, indices, and main hands. The GMT and AM/PM indicators glow blue, while the power reserve indicator emits a green light.

Movement Specifications

The hand-wound Calibre P.2005/T is the heart of the watch. It is a skeletonised movement measuring 10.05mm thick. Its most distinctive feature is Panerai's patented horizontal tourbillon, which completes one full rotation every 30 seconds on an axis perpendicular to the balance wheel.

The movement incorporates three barrels connected in series, with a combined mainspring length of 1.36 metres. This assembly delivers a power reserve of 144 hours, or six days. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and comprises 277 components with 31 jewels. The calibre also includes a true GMT function, allowing the local hour hand to jump in one-hour increments independently of the home time hand.

Availability and Price

The Panerai Luminor Tourbillon GMT Titanio PAM01784 comes with two straps. The primary strap is blue alligator leather fitted with an adjustable titanium folding clasp. An additional blue rubber strap with a pin buckle is also included, along with a screwdriver for changing the buckle.

The watch is priced at EUR 160,000. It is scheduled to become available for purchase in December 2026.
