Paris Fashion Week SS27: Gold Finales and Historic Firsts
Paris Fashion Week Spring 2027 delivered historic runway debuts and a gilded Saint Laurent finale, alongside technological innovation and major house

Paris Fashion Week Spring 2027, featuring 68 shows and 34 presentations, has been defined by key creative transitions. The season saw Matières Fécales make history at Place de la République and a gold-drenched farewell from Anthony Vaccarello at Saint Laurent.
Matières Fécales staged the first-ever runway show at Place de la République. The SS27 collection, titled 'Ninety Nine Percent', was presented on 99 models of color. Designers Steven Raj Bhaskaran and Hannah Rose led the socially conscious presentation.
Saint Laurent’s gilded farewell
Anthony Vaccarello presented his final show for Saint Laurent after a decade as creative lead. Every element was immersed in gold. Looks were coated entirely in lamé, brocade, lace, and latex brushed with gold leaf. Charlotte Gainsbourg performed during the final walk. She sang, "You are so much Yves Saint Laurent." Attendees included Rosé, Zoë Kravitz, and Hailey Bieber.
Innovation and return in the SS27 schedule
Technological experimentation marked Anrealage’s 25th Paris show. Kunihiko Morinaga presented the 'SKIN' collection. It featured LED digital skins and electronic-paper scales that change color and hue. The show began with sleek all-in-one bodysuits. It progressed to pieces made from washi, Ultrasuede scales, and peeling sequins. Six armor-like evening dresses were covered in thousands of E Ink scales that flickered through color before fading to gray.
The week also featured significant calendar movements. Two houses saw designer debuts: Courrèges with new artistic director Drew Henry, and Carven with new design director Kai Nesselrath. Several major names returned to the schedule after a season off.
Valentino also returned to Paris after showing its fall 2026 collection there.
Emerging talent and global reach
LVMH Prize alumni gained prominent visibility. Winners Julie Kegels (2026) and Hodakova (2024) both present on September 28. Satoshi Kuwata, the 2023 winner, is showing a collection in collaboration with French outdoor brand Aigle. 2024 semi-finalist Fidan Novruzova is on the calendar for the first time.
Telfar returns to Paris for spring 2027, having last shown there in 2019. The brand will live-stream its show for audiences at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, extending its global reach.
The season concludes on October 6 with a Louis Vuitton collection by Nicolas Ghesquière.
