Hanhart has launched a limited-edition chronograph in collaboration with Miami lifestyle brand 0260 and retailer BAIT. The new watch reinterprets the stainless-steel Hanhart 417 ES, a pilot's chronograph famously favored by Steve McQueen. Priced at EUR 2,890, the collaboration is a modern reimagining of the 1954 classic, woven with the distinct DNA of all three brands.

The design retains the compact proportions of the original 417 ES but filters them through a vintage motorsport lens. This is a triple-brand effort, answering a specific creative question. The founders of BAIT and 0260, Eric Peng Cheng and Lex Borrero respectively, are both noted collectors with passions spanning watches, cars, and design. Their collective interests are embedded in the watch's details.

Triple-brand DNA

The collaboration weaves together the heritage of Hanhart, 0260, and BAIT. Hanhart, established in 1882, built its fame on chronographs and became the first supplier of watches to the German Bundeswehr in 1955. The 417 ES model from that era reached iconic status. 0260 is a Miami-based collective built around passions for cars, watches, and coffee, founded by Lex Borrero, who also organizes the Time to Drive Car & Watch Festival. BAIT, founded by Eric Peng Cheng, is a influential retail and lifestyle brand. This watch represents their shared vision.

Limited production and details

Production is strictly capped, with each of the two dial colorways limited to just 88 pieces. The watches share core 417 ES DNA but present distinct personalities through their color schemes. Both models feature a bi-compax layout with a small seconds display and a 30-minute chronograph counter.

Slender Art Deco-style Arabic numerals and fine scales mark the dials. The minutes and seconds hands have curved tips to reduce parallax error, while the hours and minutes hands are coated with Super-LumiNova. Beyond the Hanhart logo, both dials carry the logos of 0260 and BAIT. The case combines satin-finished surfaces with polished details and features the signature coin-edge bidirectional bezel with a red accent. A domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial. The screw-down caseback is engraved with the logos of all three brands and the individual limited edition number. Each watch comes with a vintage-style saddle-leather strap in black, light brown, or dark brown, finished with bar-tack stitching and a pin buckle bearing Hanhart's historic logo.

Technical specification

The watch is powered by a manually wound Sellita SW510 M chronograph movement. This caliber runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a 48-hour power reserve. The stainless-steel case measures 39mm in diameter, is 13.5mm thick, and spans 46mm from lug to lug. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters.

The Hanhart 417 ES collaboration will be exhibited at the Time to Drive Fest, held at the Mana Wynwood Convention Center from November 6th to 8th.
