Mido has introduced a new Multifort TV Big Date watch featuring a COSC-certified Calibre 80 automatic movement. This marks the first chronometer-certified model in this collection, which was revived in 2023. The watch is available now from Mido retailers, priced at CHF 1,350 or EUR 1,550, with a US equivalent of $1,650.
Technical Specifications and Design
The watch features a 40mm wide by 39.2mm long stainless steel case with a lug-to-lug distance of 46.85mm. Surfaces are a mix of brushed and polished finishes. It offers 100 meters of water resistance with a screw-down crown and screw-secured caseback. The sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating on both sides.
The dial has been redesigned with a sunray-brushed blue or dark grey monochromatic color scheme. A rectangular checkerboard pattern forms the base. Diamond-cut faceted hands and applied indices are filled with Super-LumiNova. The large double-digit date display sits at 12 o'clock, now framed, with a sandblasted dot above it as a defining feature. A minutes/seconds track occupies the stepped flange, with double-digit numerals marking 5-minute intervals.

Movement and Functionality
Power comes from a COSC-certified Calibre 80 movement, based on the Powermatic family. It runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour and provides an 80-hour power reserve. A key technical upgrade is the inclusion of a Nivachron balance spring. This enhances resistance to magnetic fields, shocks, and temperature variations. The movement is visible through a transparent screw-down caseback. Decoration includes blued screws, Côtes de Genève on the oscillating weight, and a visible Mido logo.
Bracelet and Strap Options
The watch comes on an integrated stainless steel bracelet. It features satin-brushed outer links and polished center links. A push-button deployant clasp secures it to the wrist. Quick-release spring bars are fitted, allowing for easy swapping to separately available straps.
