Seiko Launches Panda-Themed Limited Edition Chronographs
Seiko will release the HHK001 and HHK002 limited-edition panda chronographs in November 2026, priced at $540. The white-and-black version is limited to 3,000 pieces, with a pink-and-black variant limited to 2,000.

Seiko is launching two limited-edition panda-themed chronographs in November 2026. The watches, named HHK001 and HHK002, will be priced at $540 each and are based on a whimsical 2024 concept piece.
The design translates panda features into functional watch elements through mitate, a Japanese concept of finding unexpected visual associations. The drooping subdials represent the panda's eyes, while the chronograph pushers are shaped like little ears. The hour and minute hands resemble bamboo leaves, and a panda's nose and smiling mouth appear at six o'clock. The dial itself has a stamped radial texture meant to evoke panda fur.
A key playful element is the two-layered scale encircling the dial. It replaces a standard tachymeter with a 'SASAMETER', a reference to sasa, the Japanese word for bamboo grass, which is the panda’s favorite food. This scale functions like a traditional tachymeter but is calibrated to calculate the speed of a panda sprinting at its maximum of roughly 30 km/h (18.6 mph). Kiyotaka Sakai, the watch's designer, noted, "I think it’s safe to say that pandas are universally beloved, and panda dials are among the most popular options for chronographs."
Case, dial and movement details
The watch features a brushed and polished stainless steel cushion-shaped case. It has a 43mm diameter, a 14.6mm profile, and a lug-to-lug measurement of 44.1mm. The dial is protected by a Hardlex crystal.
Power comes from Seiko’s 8T61 mecha-quartz movement. This caliber is resistant to magnetic fields up to 4,800 A/m and offers an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month under normal wearing conditions. The battery lasts roughly three years, depending on chronograph usage.

Limited editions and availability
Two distinct color variants will be produced in strict worldwide limits. The white-dial version with black subdials carries the reference HHK001 and is limited to 3,000 pieces. The pink-and-black edition, reference HHK002, is more exclusive, limited to 2,000 pieces. Both models will become available through Seiko Boutiques and select retailers worldwide in November 2026.
Strap, caseback and exhibition origins
The watches are paired with cowhide leather straps matching the dial color. The straps have a plain finish except for the tip and first keeper, which use a suede-like material to subtly evoke panda fur. On the original 2024 concept watch, these keepers were very hairy. "I’m glad Seiko toned it down a little for the production watches," Sakai said. The concept also featured a custom pin buckle shaped like a panda's paw, but the production model uses a conventional buckle.
The all-steel caseback continues the theme, resembling a panda’s behind complete with a cute little tail engraving. It is marked 'LIMITED EDITION' and 'water resistant' but does not specify the 30-meter rating. The watches originate from 'A Watch Exclusively for Panda Lovers', a concept piece presented by Sakai at Seiko's 2024 Incredibly Specialized Watch Exhibition. The original concept's dial text at six o'clock read 'PANDAGRAPH', but this was replaced by the panda's smiling mouth in the production version due to legal and trademark considerations. The Pandagraph name does not appear on the final dial. Presentation boxes are tailored to each colorway.
Both models go on sale in November 2026.
