Two new limited edition watches debut from independent makers

The watch world sees two distinct limited editions from independent makers. Toledano & Chan applies historic naval camouflage to its titanium B/1, and Raymond Weil honors its founder with a traveller's GMT watch featuring a world map dial.

Toledano & Chan B/1 Dazzle

Toledano & Chan has released the B/1 Dazzle, a limited edition of 200 pieces that applies dazzle camouflage patterns to its signature titanium watch. Founders Phil Toledano and Alfred Chan drew inspiration from the geometric ship camouflage used in World War I, which aimed to confuse observers about a vessel's speed and direction.

The watch uses a Grade 5 titanium case measuring 32 by 31.5mm, with a thickness varying between 9.1 and 10.4mm due to its asymmetrical, left-side crown design. The intricate pattern of intersecting lines is CNC-engraved across the case, dial, and integrated bracelet, then finished with alternating frosted and satin-brushed surfaces. This creates a shifting optical illusion that distorts the watch's edges as it moves. The standard version accounts for 188 pieces, while 12 pieces, called the B/1 Double Dazzle, feature dials set with 350 natural pavé diamonds.

Inside beats the Sellita SW100 automatic movement. This caliber operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, contains 25 jewels, and offers a 42-hour power reserve. The tactile experience is notable, with fingers encountering a mix of smooth, grainy, and rough textures across the patterned surfaces. The watch's bold, asymmetrical form continues to challenge conventional tastes while providing a platform for creative experimentation.

Raymond Weil Freelancer World-Traveller

Raymond Weil has launched the Freelancer World-Traveller, a 260-piece limited edition celebrating what would have been founder Raymond Weil's 100th birthday on October 10th. The 40mm stainless steel watch features a distinctive dial with a relief-rendered world map in a champagne-colored Mercator projection against a dark blue background.

The watch includes a 24-hour GMT hand outlined in red and a rotating city ring on the outer dial that lists 24 world locations. This ring is turned via a knurled bezel to track different time zones. The case is 10.25mm thick and houses the Sellita-based RW 3230 movement, which offers a caller GMT function, a date display, and a 56-hour power reserve, visible through a sapphire caseback.

Priced at $4,395, the model is now available. The founder's signature replaces the brand logo at 6 o'clock, sitting above the date window. Applied indexes are surrounded by a 24-hour scale in blue and beige, and the watch comes on an integrated bracelet. The design pays tribute to Raymond Weil's own enthusiasm for travel, blending GMT utility with a standout dial that invites closer inspection.
