Ralph Lauren has released a smaller version of its Western Cushion watch, featuring a 38mm hand-engraved sterling silver case and three distinct dial variations. The new Ralph Lauren Western Cushion 38mm is a downsized model from the American Western Collection, retaining the original design's sculpted, pillowy cushion shape. This trimmed-down sizing makes the heavily worked silver case wearable on a wider range of wrists, expanding accessibility to the brand's intricate Western-inspired watch design.

Dial options and strap details

The lineup offers three dial variations: black lacquer, off-white lacquer, and natural turquoise stone. Each is paired with an interchangeable tooled calf leather strap featuring floral-like impressions and a brown lining, secured by a sterling silver buckle that mirrors the case's hand-engraved treatment.

The off-white dial features a lacquered surface with a combination of black Roman and Arabic numerals. No two Turquoise Dial models look exactly alike due to the natural variation in the stone.

Powered by Piaget’s exclusive RL514 self-winding movement made for Ralph Lauren, the watch emphasizes artisanal finishing. The movement features traditional Côtes de Genève striping and perlage decoration. Hand-finished touches are applied throughout, including a crown hand-engraved with Ralph Lauren's 'RL' initials. All three versions feature Breguet-style hands and a mix of Roman and Arabic numerals.

The 38mm size adapts the original 2018 Western Cushion’s design for broader wrist compatibility while preserving its Western silverwork inspiration. The elaborate pattern is reminiscent of traditional Western silverwork and looks similar to a cowboy’s belt buckle.

Ralph Lauren launched the Western Watch Collection in 2018 to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The original Western Cushion model had a 42mm case. The brand partnered with Richemont brands like Piaget for movements in that original collection, which included other limited-production models.
