Kiwame Tokyo Releases KUBO MOMIJI Maple Leaf Watch
Kiwame Tokyo expands its accessible automatic collection with the KUBO MOMIJI, a 37mm field watch featuring a red lacquer dial with a recessed maple leaf motif.

Kiwame Tokyo has released the KUBO MOMIJI, a new automatic watch blending Japanese autumn aesthetics with compact field-watch proportions. The young Asakusa-based brand, founded in 2025, focuses on classically styled watches with accessible pricing and culturally rooted design details.
The watch's visual identity draws on traditional Japanese seasonal symbolism and architectural references. Its defining feature is a glossy lacquer dial in a deep red color inspired by Koimomiji, a hue associated with maple leaves. The dial shifts between warm red and darker burgundy tones depending on the light. The name KUBO, meaning 'hollow' in Japanese, is realized in a recessed small-seconds subdial between 4 and 5 o'clock. Within this recess lies a slightly raised maple leaf motif, visible only when light catches its contours. This registered design is complemented by applied Arabic numerals with vertical brushing.
Technical specifications and construction
The watch's physical dimensions, movement details, and material choices define its wearability and finish. The case is crafted from 316L stainless steel with a vertically brushed flat bezel that introduces a utilitarian, field-watch character.

Power comes from the Japanese Miyota caliber 82S5 automatic movement. It operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and offers an approximately 42-hour power reserve. The small-seconds hand features a counterweight inspired by the roofline of Asakusa's Kaminarimon gate.
Strap and practical features
The interchangeable strap and functional details complete the watch's everyday usability. It comes on a genuine Italian calf leather strap that measures 20 mm at the lugs and tapers to 16 mm at the buckle. Quick-release spring bars allow for easy strap changes without tools. The strap accommodates wrists between 16 and 21 cm in circumference.
For low-light visibility, the hour and minute hands are coated with luminous material, matched by twelve diamond-shaped luminous markers. The water resistance rating makes it suitable for accidental splashes but not for swimming. Pre-orders for the KUBO MOMIJI open on November 17, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Japan Standard Time.
