TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Sport Launches Five Racing

TAG Heuer has launched five new models of its Carrera Chronograph Sport. The watches were unveiled at the Formula 1 TAG Heuer Gran Premio de España 2026 in Madrid.

The release marks a decisive return for one of the brand's core chronograph pillars. It reaffirms the Carrera's identity as an instrument built for precision and performance, a vision rooted in Jack Heuer's original 1963 design. The new generation adapts that legacy for modern ergonomics while keeping motorsport at its heart.

Redesigned Case and Movement

The primary transformation is a reshaped 42mm stainless steel case. It is downsized from 44mm, with a shorter 48.6mm lug-to-lug length and a slimmer 14.17mm profile. The case features fine-brushed sides, piston-inspired pushers, and a refined bezel that combines a steel cradle with a polished ceramic tachymeter insert. The brand's signature "Victory Wreath" motif is engraved on the upper right lug.

Inside, the watches are powered by the in-house Calibre TH20-00 automatic movement. This movement delivers an 80-hour power reserve and is visible through a sapphire exhibition caseback. TAG Heuer backs it with a five-year warranty.

Dial Variations for Legibility

The permanent lineup consists of five distinct color configurations, all designed for high-speed legibility. A key departure is the ditching of traditional applied hour markers. Instead, the dials feature prominent Arabic numerals paired with a redesigned flange and a tricompax sub-dial layout.

The collection offers a classic black opalin version with red chronograph accents and a classic silver "panda" configuration with black counters. A contemporary teal green dial is paired with silver sub-dials. Two blue sunray executions are available, differing by their strap.

Bracelet, Strap, and Pricing

The redesign is completed by a tapered H-shaped steel bracelet. It features a tool-free easy-link adjustment system. For one of the blue dial models, TAG Heuer offers a motorsport-inspired perforated brown leather strap as an alternative.

According to the brand's announcement reported by Hypebeast, rollout begins this month. Pricing varies by model and strap choice.
